Fund your goals
Top up every underfunded goal for the month in one action.
Fund goals assigns every category with a goal whatever it still needs this month. It is the fastest way to get from a blank month to a funded one when your categories carry targets.
Before you begin
- At least one category with a goal. Refer to Set a goal for an envelope.
Steps
To fund your goals, follow these steps:
- Open the Budget tab and move to the month you are budgeting.
- Tap Fund goals in the header.
Every underfunded goal is topped up to its target, and To Budget falls by the total.
What it does and does not do
It tops up. A category already at or above its target is left alone, and one with no goal is skipped entirely.
It does not ration. If your goals need more than you hold, funding them all will drive To Budget negative and the header will read Overbudgeted. That is deliberate: the app will not quietly decide which of your goals matters least.
When that happens, decide yourself. Take money back out of the goals you can postpone, or lower a target that was never realistic.
Fund goals pairs well with Quick budget. Copy last month first to catch everything without a goal, then fund goals to true up the targeted categories.
